Hi Beijing, Hi Awong

i just came back from Beijing this morning and met up with Andy Wong aka Awong again. it has been so long since we last met. the last time i met him was in August '07 in Beijing too. that's long for sure.

it's such an honour and i'm so touched that he actually took a day off on 28th just to accompany me as i was given off on 28th. "so nice of you, Awong". but maybe it's because i'm his first and only friend who visited him..again..ever since he moved to Beijing in July '07, so guess he has no choice. haha.. the evening when i arrived, a colleague of mine brought me to ...don't remember where... to lepak. called Awong and he came over to join us. so nice of him lor. the following day, he came over to my hotel to bring me go kai-kai.

this time around, i got to spend more time in Beijing and this trip wasn't as rush as my previous one. yet, i did not visit the Great Wall nor the Forbidden City. instead, we decided to spend time chatting and we actually went to 2 different Starbucks for coffee. what a waste?? no i don't think so. in between, Awong did brought me to the Beijing National Stadium (Bird's Nest) and Beijing National Aquatics Center (Water Cube). so it's still good.

having a friend to visit him in Beijing, i wonder if it's a good thing as he spent so much when i was there; cab fare, food, drinks. i don't remember paying a penny at all. wait no, i did paid for my second coffee. haha.. somehow i feel so bad. except when i offered to spend him dinner, he asked me to sit still and don't move. how how... geezz.. "it's so nice of you, Awong. i really appreciate everything. although i'm happy to meet you...in a way *wink*. haha... but seriously, i really appreciate it and am happy to see you again, though we're not very close. know what i mean? take care and i'll see you soon in KL".

fyi, i'll be going back to KL on 20th Nov and he'll be going back around that time too. so excited..

Karen Was In Town~~

i was so happy when Karen told me that she managed to change her flight ticket to Hong Kong instead of Taipei. her initial plan was to go to Taipei all by herself, but after hearing a few words from me, she decided to change to Hong Kong for 1)she'll save up on accommodation 2)she gets to see me 3)she will never be lonely as i told her that i'll be off and free for her. so yes, Karen came to Hong Kong on the 22nd to 25th October. my very first friend who came to visit me. happy happy happy!!

asked if there's anywhere in particular she wanted to go or anything in particular she wanted to do, she said she's only interested to go to the beach and the main reason behind the whole holiday plan was to RELAX. so we did not go for sight-seeing or anywhere interesting. i brought her to Sham Tseng for roast goose and dessert on 22nd evening. on 23rd, we were supposed to go to Disneyland or Ocean Park but in the end, we ended up in Mong Kok and Karen shopped like there's no tomorrow. when we came back late in the evening, Des came over to chat and we had some photo sessions. 24th was when i brought her to the beach nearby with Jovan, our cameraman. not only he took pictures for us, he even spent us dinner at McDonalds. "thanks Jovan". after dinner, we had a lil farewell/gathering at my place for Karen as she's flying back on the following day, not forgetting some photo sessions again. we had the Baileys she got for me from the airport. "thanks Karen".

"thanks for coming. really hope that you do enjoy your stay here and i'm gonna miss you so much. ~muakxX!!~"

Time To Celebrate~~

so, we've completed all the modules, finished our training, done our on-job-learning BUT we still have 1 test to go, our very last final assessment tomorrow. heck, we don't care and we decided to have an early celebration with our course trainer and some other instructors. unfortunately, only our course trainer, his family and 1 instructor were able to make it and 2 batchmates did not turn up. but it's all good.

we had a sumptuous dinner in a restaurant in Tuen Mun where we were given a VIP room as there were around 29 of us. yup, big crowd and we were very noisy. it was the first time us, induction 44/08 gathered together for a makan session. and i think it will be the last time too. although we have groupings and things like i-don't-like-you and you-don't-like-me do exist between us, i believe everyone had a great time that night.

With course trainer and instructor.

Induction 44/08, minus 5 others.

after dinner, all of us took the bus back, changed and headed to the beach for a drinking session. ya, there's a man-made beach nearby, around 10-15 minutes walking distance. "thanks Nilsson and Wick for the 4 bottles of Champagne. and also Shirleen for the red wines".

It's Time To PartyyYY...

after weeks of struggling with the practical tests, the written tests, all the hardwork and lack of sleep, we finally completed one module and managed to loosen a lil before starting our next module. and since everyone was so desperate to get drunk and shake their booties, a few of us decided to hit the club at Lan Kwai Fong yesterday.

back in KL, whenever i go jeng jeng, i have friend who drives us there. in HK, we have driver too, how lucky. BUS DRIVER LA. aiyo mama...first time taking bus to jeng jeng. can you imagine that?? imagine, all of us dressed up pretty pwetty then took bus to party. everyone in the bus were looking at us as if we're ko-ko-kai. sounds very pathetic and funny indeed, but that's our only way to get there if we wanna go jeng jeng in HK. have to learn to get used to it. sigh...taking cab is going to cost us a bomb, so bus is our only option. unless you're rich enough to own a car here, then different case. what an experience!

we went to this club, which i don't remember what it's called. it is in a hotel, top most floor with no cover charge and it's a no smoking club. after jeng jeng, we took the bus back..again. everyone was so tired that we couldn't help but to nap. pity Bernard, the Gold Coast pimp who had to force his eyes open throughout the whole journey so that we did not miss our stop. "thanks, Bernard". it was a fun night and everyone was so happy.

The crowd.

Sweet dreams..

Typhoon???

we were released earlier from training school yesterday after the typhoon signal no.8 was hoisted. supposedly we should be scared and worried but none of us felt that way. all of us were so happy because the class ended early and excited because it's the first time we're experiencing typhoon. we are a bunch of crazy people indeed. transport were arranged for us to go home early and once we reached our respective towers/blocks, we saw this...

however, class resumed today but only 2 hours later than usual as the signal has changed from no.8 to no.3. i managed to capture a video of the typhoon no.3. it was still pouring and you can see that it's so windy. imagine if it's typhoon signal no.8, it'll be i-don't-know-how-many-hundred-times-worse than no.3. according to a guy (big, not skinny) friend of mine, he tried standing outside during typhoon no.8 and he almost became a Superman (got flown away). read more if you're interested. honestly, i'm too lazy to read them. oh..we were told that during training, if typhoon signal no.8 is hoisted, class will be cancelled. but after training, once we started working, we MUST go to work even if it's signal no.8. CRAZY MAN!! tell you, i'll definitely become a Superwoman by then.
~now everyone i can fly~

Yue Kee Roast Goose

on 19th September, we had the most copious and expensive dinner ever since we came to Hong Kong. a friend recommended roast goose at Sham Tseng as it's very famous and it's pretty near to our place. there are so many restaurants selling roast goose at Sham Tseng but we went to Sham Tseng Yue Kee Roast Goose Restaurant as it is the most well-known. ordered a few dishes as roast goose alone is never enough, plus i don't eat goose. gaga.. i really do recommend Yue Kee as the food there are yummy although it's a lil too expensive. we ordered a roast goose, soup and 4 other dishes and the total bill came to a whooping HK$1099.20. ooo la la... after dinner we had dessert at Lucky Dessert, also a very well-known place for dessert.

PFFT...I'm Back Again

it's been exactly 10 days since i came to Hong Kong; my new place to start a new life, a new job and meeting new friends and colleagues. i have to start everything from scratch again. learning to adapt to changes and living a new life in a total strange and new world. learning to be strong and independant, enduring life with my possible strength.

so far, i've been coping with everything pretty well. i love my new house; a nice apartment at the Gold Coast Residences, i'm in the same batch as 2 ex-colleagues from my previous company whom i'm clicking pretty well with and not forgetting, meeting new friends. although our schedule is so hectic and trainings are intensive, we're trying to support each other in any way we could. hope everyone make it through. hmmm...i sounded quite emo, wonder why. i think i miss home.

i do miss blogging, although i have nothing interesting to talk about most of the time. just feel like keeping this blog alive as long as i could possibly do. like i've said, schedules are so pack, we have no sufficient time to revise, study and go online. but today is an exemption, i'm so lazy to read so decided to spend some time updating this blog.

here goes, my long neglected posts all squeeze into 1. back in August, i decided to go to Penang to see my Grandma before i leave for Hong Kong, as i've never seen her for 3 years since i started working in KL. plus i have idea when will i be coming back to M'sia again once i'm in HK. so Mom, bro and i went to Penang on 15th-18th August. i was so happy to see Grandma when we reached but i was sad at the same time. i notice that Grandma is getting old and she's suffering from joint pain on the knee/arthritis. it's sad to see her in pain at times which she tried hiding by not complaining but we can see from her facial expression.

Ah Ma.

k la, stop being so emo. let me post some pics of food. we had dim sum, lotsa asam laksa and seafood. at least i had all the yummy food before i leave KL.

Dim sum, buffet style, very very cheap.

Seafood...saliva drooling di...

Cute cute Jess.

on 29th August, Avril Lavigne finally came to Malaysia for her concert after all the huru-hara caused by ... manusia. Miss Karen asked if i'm interested and hell yeah, i'm very interested. so i went to the concert with Miss Karen and 1 of her colleagues. first time going to a concert ok, and i was so jakun. bah..

when we were there, it was drizzling. so every one of us got a free ugly ciplak raincoat. bodohss...but luckily it stopped right before the concert starts. all in all, Avril R-O-C-K-S!!!

Devilish Karen.

on 30th August, we went to Velvet to party. my so-called farewell and my last jeng jeng before leaving for Hong Kong. thanks to those who turned up and piggyback-ed me. i'm so gonna miss jeng jeng-ing with you guys. hearts all of you!! *wonder when will i be coming back to jeng jeng again...sigh*

Samara is in town..

And now, some pics of my new place.
